Instinctive
A Sci-fi short film
A young woman follows the same routine in her office job every day, until one day she misses her alarm, and her entire world is thrown into doubt.
Produced from Autumn 2021 to Summer 2022 in my final year at the University of Portsmouth; Instinctive aims to question what really makes us human and breaking the monotony of following the same everyday routine.
I was the writer for this production, and worked with my co-writer to greatly develop the concept into the final story which I felt really enthusiastic about creating. We developed the script over several months, working to ensure that our main characters story and development was compelling. This production allowed for me to put everything I have learned about scriptwriting at University to good use, ensuring that the final script was to the best standard possible; and overall I am very proud of the script and story for this production.

A Historically Inspired Short Film
Having just moved into his first apartment, overlooking the Berlin wall, a young man falls in love with a woman who lives on the other side.
Produced during the 2021 spring semester, this short film tells the story of Eva and Michael and the bond they form despite being separated by the Berlin Wall. I was the writer for this project, and my tasks involved developing the story, writing the script and ensuring that narrative continuity was followed during shooting. I had initially come up with this concept over a year before this project and once we decided to use this for our short film, I fully developed the concept into a full short story for our production; this helped me to understand how much development a story will often go through before the final draft is completed for the production. I also fell I understand more about the part that a script supervisor plays on set in ensuring that the story is correctly followed during shooting.
Earthlings
A Sci-fi Short Film Script
An alien overlord is confident he will crush a puny planet known as Earth. However, this worlds inhabitants are not what he was expecting.
Currently in it's second draft, this script was inspired by watching countless sci-fi films of alien invadsion, and wonder what it might be light from the aliens perspective. I also thought it would be an interesting angle to explore how humans as a species may be viewed from an outside perspective.
I'm presently in the process of receiving script coverage & feedback before writing the third draft and seeking producers to help me bring this story to life.
Shot Down (working title) - curently in development.
A historical short film script.
Shot down over enemy territory, two pilot brothers must confront their distant relationship and address what divides them; but in a hostile land will they be able to reconnect with each other to make it home together?
The concept for this script went through many iterations before making it to the writing phase. Originally this was a concept short film for a much larger concept for a drama series. Originally, the plot for this film would have the main characters as German pilots, who were shot down during the battle of Britain, but had somehow travelled into the modern day. However, this was later revised to remove the time travelling aspect, in order to put greater focus on the relationship between the two brothers.
